The biggest defense against widespread drug use is widespread knowledge of the dangers. Government policies for affecting the supply of drugs have not worked for more than 50 years. All they do is create bigger government agencies with bigger budgets.
People only smuggle drugs into the U.S. because of the local demand. Let’s work on educating people about the dangers. Let’s stop thinking of those who died from drug overdoses as victims. They made poor choices, and the more knowledge the public has about all the people who made poor choices is the best way for others to stop making those choices.
