1. To avoid not knowing when to use a comma, always put a comma before a conjunction.
2. Periods and commas only go before a closing quotation mark if there was a period or comma in the original. Most style guides do not follow this rule, but they are wrong and I am right.
3. Never underline a phase unless it is a hyperlink. That even goes for book titles in citations. Use bold fonts when traditional style guides recommend using underline.
